For oral administration for cattle as a source of supplemental, essential minerals (electrolytes) during periods of stress, such as during and immediately following shipping, during disease and convalescence, or when the animal’s normal intake of feed and water is reduced. Store at room temperature and protect from light. Avoid excessive heat (104°F).

DIRECTIONS FOR INTRAVENOUS USE: For making parenteral solutions containing 5% Dextrose and representing in mEq/L: Na+ 140, K+ 10, Ca++ 5, Mg++ 3, Cl- 103, HCO3- 55 (after metabolic conversion). Dissolve aseptically in 4,000 mL of Water for Injection in a clean container suitable for heat sterilization (or 8 500-mL serum bottles). Stopper loosely and boil for at least 30 minutes or autoclave for 20 minutes at 15 PSI (250°F). Seal stoppers and allow bottles to cool at room temperature. Use promptly. Note: If turbid, solution becomes clear on boiling or standing a few minutes.

DOSES: Large animals receive intravenously up to 4,000 mL (approximately 1 gallon) of the finished parenteral solution as indicated by degree of dehydration. The treatment may be repeated according to clinical judgement.
