Causes contraction of smooth muscles to aid in the precipitation of labor and milk letdown. Indicated for use in several species as an aid in uterine contractions to precipitate and/or accelerate normal parturition. Oxytocin is also for use post-partum to aid in the evacuation of uterine debris. May be used following a cesarean section to aid in the reduction of blood flow. It is also indicated for the stimulation of milk letdown by contracting smooth muscles in the udder. Contract smooth muscle cells of the mammary gland for milk letdown. Recommended as an aid in the management of the following conditions: To precipitate labor. to accelerate normal parturition. And postpartum evacuation of uterine debris.

Directions: Inject IV, IM, or SQ.
